>FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: What are the French icingtons made out of?
A: The French icingtons are made out of a premium 'moulding sugar paste' that is far superior than the standard 'hard icing' or 'plastic icing' often used for cake decoration. This ensures for a more solid state, and prevents the colors from fading. The colors are made from natural food-grade dye.
Q: How are French icingtons made?
A: All French icingtons are hand crafted in our studio and made by our talented designers. The specialized icing is soft and very delicate to work with--more so than any other material that are used to make figurines such as polymer clay. It requires a lot of skill to produce French icingtons. It takes more than a week to complete a single figurine, from its design stage to its final solid state.
Q: How tall are the French icingtons?
A: They are approximately 16 cm. The groom is slightly taller.
Q: Are French icingtons long lasting?
A: Yes, absolutely. The French icingtons are made from a specialist type of sugar which contains a preservative to ensure the icing will not spoil. This icing is also much more solid than the standard 'hard icing' used in so many cake decoration and sugarpaste figurines-- meaning it will not easily crack or break. This is the difference between French icingtons and ordinary sugarpaste products. If they are kept away from moisture and direct heat, the product will last for decades.
Q: Where do I place the figurines?
A: French icingtons are traditionally placed on the top tier of a cake. But as long as there is a level and flat plane, they can be placed anywhere that will look visually pleasing. If your Wedding cake is made of hard icing, you can place them directly on the cake. However, if your wedding cake is laced with cream or moist icing sugar, than you will need to place an additional flat level base, stand, or plastic film between the cake and figurines--these can be easily purchased from your local wedding supplier.
Q: Can I eat the French icingtons?
A: Unfortunately No. Although the icingtons are made out of sugar and look very tempting, we strongly advise clients not to consume the product as they may contain hard edges and binding material.
Q: Your groom figurine is so adorable--can I marry him instead?
A: Your secret is safe with us
